We take our food and beer very seriously
Central City Tap House was opened in August of 2010 adjacent to the Epic Bistro. When we first came up with the idea for this concept, we went to great lengths to research it thoroughly. We were proud that our customers met us with a great deal of support. So much so, that Central City Tap House is referred to as the "original tap house" with the exception of its sister location in Portage which is called Centre Street Tap House. We take our food and beer seriously, very seriously. Our menu is scratch-made and inspired from local and international pub food traditions. Old favorites are the Mahi Mahi Tacos, Truffle Parmesan Frites and the Lamb Sliders.
And don't forget about the beer. Our 20 taps of rotating craft beer come from months-old Michigan breweries, 200 year-old Belgian Monasteries, and everything in between. If it's a great and unique beer, you will find it on tap or in one of our 75+ bottles. We also have a hand-pull cask, pouring unfiltered and unpasteurized ale.
In our quest for "better beverages", Central City Tap House offers 20 "taps" of wine held in our wine keeper and a selection of whiskeys that range from the everyday selections to the hard-to-find. We offer style appropriate glassware that is rinsed before every pour to ensure the beers are enjoyed at their best. We take care to monitor and control the environment our beer is kept in and poured from. (Did you know that our tap system spent a few nights in the port while they were waiting to be cleared by customs, on their way here from Belgium?) We didn't like waiting, and it almost held up our opening, but that was okay... it was worth it. If you haven't seen how pretty they are in person, you should make it a point to check them out. The centerpiece of our tap house is the Stella Artois frosted tower. Every beer poured from this tap is ice cold.
